A confident start,
the traditional way

Little Lions Karate at our Alexandra Headland dojo is where the journey begins. Classes are short, fun and carefully structured for little ones — plenty of movement, clear routines and small wins that keep 4 and 5 year-olds engaged from the first class.

It looks like play, but every drill has a purpose: following instructions, taking turns, balancing, and learning to try again when something is hard. These are the habits that carry into big school and everything after it.

Class sizes are kept small so every child is seen, and it's all taught within the same authentic Karatedo tradition as our older classes — just pitched perfectly for their age.

Karate academy has been the best decision for my son’s confidence and growth. He only started training 9 months ago and he has learnt so much and absolutely loves it.

Their first class

Wear comfortable clothes they can move in and bring a water bottle — no Gi (Uniform) needed to start, and we'll have a Gi (Uniform) to try on if they'd like the full experience.

Little Lions classes run late afternoon and are kept short and lively so little attention spans stay engaged. You watch from the viewing area while they train on the mat - independent from day one, which is exactly how the confidence gets built.

The first class is completely free and there's no commitment — come along, see them light up, and go from there.

  1. Arrive 10 minutes early

Time to sign in, meet us and settle in without rushing.

  2. Comfortable clothes

Anything they can move in, plus a water bottle. That’s the whole list.

  3. No Gi (Uniform) needed

Nothing to buy before they start — we’ll have one to try on if they’d like.

  4. They’ll meet their instructor

Who introduces themselves, learns their name, and explains what’s coming.

  5. They’ll leave having succeeded

Every first class is built so they finish having done one thing well.
