Real Karate,
real results

Our kids classes combine authentic traditional Karate with modern teaching for 6–8 year-olds. Children learn genuine technique and practical self-defence — the real thing, taught with respect for their age and ability.

It's Karate with a purpose beyond the mat: the discipline, focus and respect that show up in schoolwork and at home, and the quiet confidence that means they can stand up to a bully without becoming one.

A clear belt-progression system gives them something to work towards, and small classes mean every child gets real attention from the instructor — not lost in a crowd.

“
Karate academy has been the best decision for my son’s confidence and growth. He only started training 9 months ago and he has learnt so much and absolutely loves it.

“
Luke is great with my young bloke and kids in general. My young bloke can’t wait to go to class! For the adults, this is old school real Karate — not another ‘McDojo’.

Their first class

New students join the same class as everyone else and are taught at their own level from day one — the instructors pair beginners with what they can already do, so nobody is thrown in the deep end.

Wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle; no Gi (Uniform) needed to try. We'll have a Gi (Uniform) on hand if they'd like the full experience, and most kids leave their first class grinning.

Juniors runs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 4:50pm at our Alexandra Headland dojo. The first class is free with no commitment.

  1. Arrive 10 minutes early

Time to sign in, meet us and settle in without rushing.

  2. Comfortable clothes

Anything they can move in, plus a water bottle. That’s the whole list.

  3. No Gi (Uniform) needed

Nothing to buy before they start — we’ll have one to try on if they’d like.

  4. They’ll meet their instructor

Who introduces themselves, learns their name, and explains what’s coming.

  5. They’ll leave having succeeded

Every first class is built so they finish having done one thing well.

Quite the opposite. Our students become more confident standing up to bullies and develop more humility and kindness through their training. Real martial arts teaches restraint and respect, not aggression.

In the same Juniors class as everyone else. Juniors runs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 4:50pm, and beginners are taught at their own level from their first session — there is no separate beginners' night to wait for.

Children train independently from their very first class, and parents watch from the viewing area rather than on the mat.

Comfortable clothes they can move in and a water bottle. No Gi (Uniform) required to start — we'll have a Gi (Uniform) available to try on if they'd like.
